Pasadena Rose Parade
S taged every year since 1890, The Rose Parade has grown from a local Pasadena institution to a national ceremony that's very equivelent to the New Year's Eve ball drop in Times Square. On Tuesday January 1, 2008, at 8:00am the 120th Rose Parade themed "Hats off to Entertainment", promises even more extravaganza than usual. Reign over the parade is 91st Rose Queen, Courtney Lee. Following along Grand Marshall, Cloris Leachman. Spectacular floats made from petals, seeds and roots, as well as award-winning marching bands and equestrian units will make their usual march down Colorado Boulevard.
Unlike any other parade, fans usually prepare to make what ever sacrafices are needed in order to obtain the perfect location to view the parade, even if that means "sidewalk camping." The parade starts at Ellis Street and Orange Grove Boulevard, then slowly progresses up to Colorado Boulevard. The 5.5 mile route winds to a close as it turns north on Sierra Madre Boulevard and ends at Villa Avenue. So, if you plan to have the best seats in the house this upcoming Rose Parade, then be prepared! Don't know how to prepare? Well, this information might be of some use:2009 Rose Parade and
